Expectations
Players
At Silver Falls SC, we expect all players to represent themselves, their team, and the club with respect, effort, and sportsmanship-on and off the field.
As an SFSC player, you will:
· Be prepared. Arrive on time for all practices and games, ready to listen, learn, and contribute.
· Bring your gear. Take responsibility for bringing all required equipment to every practice and game.
· Show commitment. Attend all scheduled practices and games whenever possible and notify your coach in advance if you are unable to attend.
· Communicate openly. Talk with your coach about any issues or concerns that affect your ability to participate or perform.
· Demonstrate sportsmanship. Always play fairly and respectfully – at practices, games, and tournaments.
· Support your teammates. Encourage positive behavior, teamwork, and fair play in others.
· Respect officials. Accept all referee decisions without arguing or displaying negative gestures.
· Work hard. Always give your best effort on the field and take initiatives to improve your skills outside of scheduled practices.
· Prioritize safety. Report any injuries or health concerns to your coach as soon as possible.
· Represent Silver Falls SC with pride. Understand that your actions reflect on your team, your family, and Silver Falls Soccer Club – on and off the field.
· Be accountable. Recognize that poor behavior or inappropriate language may result in reduced playing time or removal from the team.
· Strive for excellence off the field. Maintain good attendance and academic effort at school, knowing that success in the classroom supports success on the field.
Parents
Parents and caregivers play a vital role in creating a positive youth soccer experience. At Silver Falls SC, we ask all parents to support our players, coaches, and volunteers with respect and encouragement.
As an SFSC parent or guardian, you will:
· Support your child’s experience. Encourage effort, improvement, and enjoyment over wins and losses. Help your child focus on learning and having fun.
· Be a positive role model. Show good sportsmanship, respect, and encouragement toward all players, coaches, referees, and families-both on and off the field.
· Let coaches coach. Allow the coaching staff to direct the team. Avoid coaching from the sidelines or interfering during games and practices.
· Respect referees and officials. Accept decisions without criticism or confrontation, recognizing that mistakes are part of the game and learning process.
· Foster a safe and supportive environment. Avoid negative behavior, abusive language, or aggressive conduct at any club event. Help ensure soccer remains a welcoming experience for all.
· Communicate appropriately. Address any concerns calmly, respectfully, and at the appropriate time-never during games or practices.
· Prioritize attendance and commitment. Make reasonable efforts to ensure your child attends practices and games, and notify the coach in advance if you are unable to participate.
· Support the team and community. Encourage team spirit and contribute to a culture of inclusion, respect, and collaboration.
· Respect club values. Understand that Silver Falls Soccer Club emphasizes development, fairness, and long-term growth-not just competition or outcomes.
