Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What does my player need to play soccer?
K-3rd graders need an orange SFSC jersey.
4th-8th graders need an orange and a silver SFSC jersey.
Player will need cleats and shin guards for practices.
A ball is good, but the coach will have a few extras.
Black shorts and long socks are also recommended for games.
There is no specific required training gear.
It's past the registration date - is it too late to register?
Though unlikely, it is possible there is a spot for your child.
Send us a message to find out, including your name, player's name, phone number, player's birthdate, and school grade.
Note: A late fee of $25 will be added to the price.
What if my child does not like it? Can I get a refund?
If you sign up your child for soccer and then they are not able to participate, please notify SFSC as soon as possible.
Refunds will be given minus a $25 cancellation fee until 2 weeks before the first day of games. After that, no refunds will be issued.
How are teams formed? Can I request which team my child is on?
We organize players into teams based on the following:
1. Requests made by parents during registration
2. Available number of volunteer coaches
3. Available roster spaces per team
4. Date of registration
We will always try our best to honor requests as well as geography, but that does not always work out.
Regardless of team placement, the club will do its best to give each player the best developmental experience possible.
What about playing up?
Typically, we DO NOT have players play up. Our preference is for players to play with their grade as the point of our recreational program is to maximize fun.
You may send us a message requesting to play up. These requests are considered by our Program Committee and a decision is reached after the case.
What are your policies/league rules/etc.?
You can find all this in our Parent Player Handbook here!
Will my financial aid application and documents be kept private?
Yes. We understand that financial information is sensitive, and your privacy is a priority. All financial aid applications are handled confidentially and are reviewed only by designated club volunteers responsible for processing financial aid. Your information will not be shared outside of the scholarship process.
Weather/Cancellations Policies?
Games and practices may be cancelled due to poor field conditions or weather. Coaches will notify families as soon as possible, using the BYGA app. We do our best to reschedule where possible but cannot guarantee make-up games.
How will I receive updates and communication during the season?
All team and club communication will happen through the BYGA app. This includes practice schedules, game reminders, team messages, field updates, and club-wide announcements.
What is BYGA?
BYGA is our club's primary communication platform. If you're not a member, you will recieve an activiation link following registration. You will then have access to the app on your phone or browser.
